How the marketplace and its service providers handle information about visitors, bidders, auction companies, sellers, and staff.

Optional text alerts

You can choose GatorBid text messages for watchlist reminders and saved search alerts. Text consent is optional and separate from creating an account or placing bids. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help, or turn off text alerts in notification preferences.

We keep your phone number, consent and withdrawal records, and delivery information to operate text alerts and honor your choices. We do not sell or share text messaging opt-in information or consent for third-party marketing. Messaging service providers process information needed to deliver these messages. After changing your phone number or replying STOP, fresh consent is required before GatorBid text alerts resume.

Who handles your information

[MARKETPLACE OPERATOR LEGAL NAME] operates GatorBid Auction Marketplace and is referred to as GatorBid, we, us, or our. Our legal-notice mailing address is [LEGAL NOTICE MAILING ADDRESS].

This notice covers information handled to operate the marketplace. Auction companies also handle information for their own auctions, records, and communications. Their separate privacy practices apply to that handling; the company identified on the auction page is your contact for those practices. Contact privacy@clarkauctions.com about GatorBid's handling of your information.

Information you provide

We collect account and contact information such as your name, email, phone, address, and sign-in credentials; auction registrations, delivery choices, tax-exemption documents, and bidder notes; saved lots, searches, reminders, bidding instructions, bids, invoices, and payment records; and communications, attachments, and support requests.

Auction-company applications and onboarding may include business and representative details, website, auction plans, tax and billing information, staff invitations, catalogs, images, documents, and settlement details. Provide information about other people only when you have authority to do so.

Automatic collection and other sources

We record information about use of the service, including IP address, browser and device information, sign-in attempts, session activity, security events, and auction and transaction activity. Cookies maintain sign-in, protect requests, and remember selected company context. Browser storage also retains session display information, registration drafts, bidding recovery information, and bidder tool selections. Disabling or clearing that storage can interrupt these features.

We also receive information from auction companies and their authorized imports, including bidder contact details, auction registrations, catalog and transaction records from auction-management systems. An imported record may exist before you create a marketplace login. Payment, identity, communications, and other service providers supply status, verification, delivery, fraud, and transaction information. An imported record of accepting another service's terms is not acceptance of GatorBid's marketplace terms.

Identity verification

When identity verification is required, Stripe Identity collects images of a government-issued identity document and a matching selfie through its verification flow. It extracts document information and uses automated face matching, including biometric processing, to check identity and prevent fraud. Review the provider's disclosures and consent choices before continuing.

GatorBid's application records verification status, dates, and limited verification and fraud evidence. The provider hosts the submitted images and document information; authorized platform personnel may have access to supporting records through the provider for verification and fraud review. The application does not store the biometric face-matching identifiers. Auction-company staff receive the verification status needed for their auction, rather than identity-document images or biometric identifiers.

The provider's privacy notice explains its separate processing, retention, consent withdrawal, and deletion practices. Contact privacy@clarkauctions.com about GatorBid's records or if you cannot use the verification method. Withdrawing consent or deleting verification information may affect eligibility where identity verification is required; it does not erase records we must lawfully retain.

Payments and escrow information

Payment providers collect card or bank details through their payment and onboarding flows. GatorBid records saved-payment references, limited card details such as brand, expiration and last four digits, authorizations, charges, refunds, disputes, and settlement evidence. Do not send full card numbers, passwords, or identity documents to our privacy email address.

Your reusable escrow pool is managed at marketplace level across eligible auctions. Auction companies receive their own auction's requirement, reserved exposure, sufficiency, payment, and review information. Their ordinary staff views do not disclose your total pool balance, funding for other companies, or other companies' reservations and disputes.

How we use and disclose information

  • Operate accounts, verification, registrations, timed and webcast bidding, bidder tools, invoices, payments, escrow, pickup, shipping, support, and seller onboarding.
  • Give the company running an auction the bidder contact, registration, bidding, invoice, and fulfillment information needed to run that auction and keep its records. Company access is limited to its authorized scope.
  • Use payment and identity providers, hosting and security services, communications and media delivery services, and authorized auction-management integrations to provide their respective functions. These services receive information necessary for those functions and may collect information directly under their own notices.
  • Investigate fraud and abuse, secure accounts, maintain service reliability, enforce applicable terms, resolve disputes, and maintain required financial and audit records. Share necessary information with professional advisors or authorities when legally required or appropriate to protect rights and security.
  • Display published catalogs, company identities, lot media, prices, and auction status. We do not publish bidder contact details on public auction pages.

Advertising, cookies, and browser signals

We do not sell personal information for money or other valuable consideration, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The marketplace does not load advertising trackers. Operational disclosures to auction companies and providers are described above.

This practice applies whether or not your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Those signals do not disable the cookies, browser storage, or provider processing necessary for the services you request. Embedded or provider-hosted payment, identity, and media services may collect device and activity information under their own notices, including for fraud prevention across services.

Your requests and choices

Update contact details in your account and manage saved lots, reminders, and notification preferences there. Contact privacy@clarkauctions.com to request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction, or an appeal, or to ask about sale, sharing, or advertising choices. Identify the account email, the right you want to exercise, and your state or country so we can determine the applicable requirements. You do not need to create an account to make a request.

Available legal rights and exceptions depend on your location and our role in handling the information. We may request information proportionate to verifying access, correction, or deletion requests; sale or sharing opt-outs do not require account creation or identity verification. An authorized representative may contact us with evidence of authority where required. We will explain a refusal and how to appeal under applicable law. To appeal, email the same address with Privacy Appeal and the prior request details. You may also contact your jurisdiction's privacy regulator.

We do not penalize you for exercising privacy rights. Some requested services may be unavailable if information necessary for them is removed or withheld. Marketing choices do not stop necessary account, bid, invoice, payment, fulfillment, legal, or security notices. Auction companies control their own separate marketing; contact the sender to change those choices.

Retention and security

Retention depends on the record's purpose: account information supports your account; bids, registrations, accepted terms, invoices, payments, tax, and settlement records support transactions and legal obligations; security and fraud records support investigations and abuse prevention. We consider open obligations, disputes, legal retention duties, limitation periods, and the continued need for each purpose when deciding retention. Deletion requests are reviewed against those needs, and closing an account does not automatically delete transaction or audit evidence.

Provider-hosted identity and payment records have the provider's applicable retention and deletion rules as well as our obligations. A request to GatorBid does not by itself close a separate provider account. We use access controls and administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee perfect security.

Changes to this notice

We give notice of changes on this page by updating its version, effective date, and the description of changes in this section. Read the notice effective when the information is handled. If a new purpose requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, that requirement must be met before that processing begins; accepting general marketplace terms is not a substitute for any separate consent required by law.

This revision adds the optional GatorBid text alert program, including separate consent, delivery information, and opt-out choices. Auction-company responsibilities remain unchanged.
