Bidding

Bidding safely and fairly

Bids are binding offers, and a few rules keep the marketplace fair for everyone. The plain-language version, with the full rules linked.

Your bid is a real commitment

Treat every bid as an offer you intend to honor. Read the auction's terms and obtain approval before bidding. Contact the auction company immediately about a mistaken bid or a retraction allowed by applicable law or enforceable auction terms; the absence of a retract button does not waive a legal right.

Keep it fair

  • Bid only from your own account, and don't share it or bid on behalf of someone trying to evade a limit.
  • Don't bid to run up a price you don't intend to pay, or coordinate with others to manipulate an auction.
  • Don't use automation or other tricks to interfere with bidding or the platform.

If something looks wrong

If you see bidding that looks unfair, or you're unsure whether something is allowed, ask before you act. Contact the auction company for an auction-specific concern, or marketplace support for an account or platform issue.
